Environmental Health Decisions was established in 1999 by Dr. Jill Ryer-Powder. Dr. Ryer-Powder’s mission is to provide science-based toxicology and human health risk assessment consulting services by leveraging 25+ years of industry expertise and contacts to ensure efficient and cost effective solutions. As EHD’s Principal Toxicologist, Dr. Ryer-Powder is a PhD Toxicologist certified by the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) and engages directly with all EHD clients from the beginning to the end on all projects. This focus ensures the highest level of expertise, cost-efficiency, and continuity on all projects. She is recognized throughout the industry as an expert in environmental human health risk assessment, lead exposure health assessment, chemical exposure, Proposition 65 analysis, risk assessment report review, and disease causation. Additionally, as an expert to the legal profession, Dr. Ryer-Powder has established herself throughout the United States and has led groundbreaking methods for favorable court rulings.
Dr. Ryer-Powder has provided litigation support as an expert witness toxicologist by giving testimony at deposition and trial, and providing case evaluations and consultations for both plaintiff and defense. She prides herself on developing innovative approaches to cases and on her irrefutable preparation. She has provided more than two dozen depositions and has testified in jury trials on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants.
Dr. Ryer-Powder has provided technical expertise to industry organizations, government agencies, and the legal profession. She is knowledgeable in regulatory requirements and regularly communicates with the California Environmental Protection Agency (DTSC and OSHA), Regional Water Quality Control Board, and United States Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Ryer-Powder also works with local regulatory agencies. She has consulted in industries such as construction, cosmetics, toys, manufacturing, oil and gas, fertilizers, and real estate.
